Velvet Romper

More about the kitty romper:
As I said, the pattern was big and I did have to rework it, but it was mostly because of the bust! I get that I'm small chested, but this was ridiculous! Because of this, I am going to be reworking this pattern completely soon. I am on the hunt for pattern drafting paper, and I will be creating more of these soon. They are just so cute!

The photo of me at Lowes in the kitty romper was taken with this app I am currently obsessing over, it is called Split Pic and I highly recommend it, but only if you are with a friend. Too hard to do by yourself.

The second time I made this romper was in red velvet. Ooooh! I as always, learned a lot. The first thing is regular velvet is way more fun to play with than stretch velvet. The second was that velvet shreds under pressure. I asked around and two things seem to be the suggested:

#1 Serge the edges (which I did) or zig zag and then do an extra sew line next to it (which I didn't)
#2 Line it! I guess I though lining was more if the fabric was see-through (like the cat fabric) I didn't realize it can also allievate some pressure from the velvet fabric.

Anyway, here is a photo of me in the velvet romper, at IMATS LA.  Doe suggested I added a blue bow which I loved! I think I got more compliments on the velvet bow than the romper itself, but ah... oh well.
